About Kim

Currently, I’m a 29 year old adjunct professor teaching writing and literature. I am also writing my first book, whose subject changes moment by moment. I have a few degrees in something called “English,” a subject I quite enjoy sharing with the masses at every opportunity. I also have a vast and extremely random knowledge of pop culture, a fact which makes me deadly at Trivial Pursuit.

I am an eclectic reader and will pretty much try anything at least once, especially on the recommendation of friends, family, and other book people. However, my favorite books of all time are the classics. Right now, I’m having a love affair with English literature from the Regency and Victorian eras – writers like Jane Austen, Elizabeth Gaskell, and George Eliot. And I absolutely devour historical fiction. So you can expect to see a lot of these books on my list this year!

I have recently started writing my very first (of a series, hopefully) Austen-esque novel called My Dear Sophy. The first book tells the story of how Sophia Wentworth — Captain Wentworth’s older sister in Persuasion — meets  Admiral Croft. The following books in the series will be about the couple’s adventures on board the Admiral’s ship as they navigate the globe and fight in the Napoleonic Wars.
